Statewide Family Network
Nevada PEP developed and operates Nevada’s Statewide Family Network (SFN), a strong Nevada network of families, parent groups, professionals, community organizations, agencies and policymakers who are dedicated to empowering families and strengthening their ability to participate in statewide and local mental health care reform, and improving outcomes for children and youth with behavioral health care needs.
We are the family partner organization for Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) and provide the family voice in planning, policy development and implementation and evaluation of services for children, youth and their families. Together, we offer System of Care focused training workshops for communities and professionals across Nevada.
Our program is dedicated to increasing public awareness of children’s mental health issues through community events, publications, e-newsletters, and social media. Our staff and volunteers have lived experience parenting a child who experience behavioral health care needs. Using their lived experience and expertise, they serve on multiple boards, commissions, committees, and consortia to improve Nevada’s child, youth and family serving systems.
The System of Care Core Values and Guiding Principles are central to the work that the SFN does, whether in collaboration with the DCFS, meetings with other stakeholders and groups, or while working with families.
